A quick question. I am looking at buying a 1984 model Morgan43 Nelson Merek design. The mast is stepped to the keel, but in the cabin there are cables running from deck to keel directly in front and back of the mast in the cabin. Is this a factory configuration? A compression issue? The chainplates are mounted thru the toe rail and you can see the head of the carriage bolts in the side of the hull. Was this a factory installation? I have looked at lots of morgans and this is the first time i have seen this, however it looks like a factory install based on the quality of the work. It's good to talk to those in the know. Any help or advice on this is appreciated.
