I'm considering adding a mast step hinge to my Columbia (sorry Hunter owners) Sabre.The mast is 34',deck stepped of course, inner and outer shrouds,single spreader,single headstay and backstay. I've seen a design that would seem to work. The hinge would only add an inch to the overall height of the mast, and I have that much and more adjustment in the shrouds. Is there any reason not to make this addition?
