I have not heard from Catalina but wouldn't expect to until next week.
However, since it is raining and I'm not sailing today, I opened the switch panel in my 1986 CP22 and found no wires except the running lights, cabin lights, and power wires. So I think that probably answers my question even before talking with Catalina - no pre-installed wiring harness. I'll keep everybody posted.

I hate to drill holes in my boat, so I would run a pigtail from the panel up through the hatch. I'd make the connection when I needed lights and stow it below the rest of the time. One less thing to worry about or trip over.

p.s. I'd be tempted to use a standard flat 4 trailer connector for three conductors plus ground. Not very salty looking but they are bullet proof and easy to find.

There's a photo in the "boats for sale" forum that shows wires on the interior. Mine is rigged similarly, but the location is to stbd, and there's a quick release electrical fitting on the deck and below.
