It is that time of year again... where normal maintenance that has been put off has to be addressed.

and before I haul up my 1/8 ton frame to the top of the mast of my 1985 H40, tall rig with original lighting
Does anyone know for sure what bulb is used in the burned out masthead light fixture??

Thanks in advance.

P.S. New bosuns chair and 1" safety slings ready to go. Anyone else used those climber slings. I have to stop halfway up to put a 3rd and 4th slings on above the staysail halyard for the safeties.

now its time fore figuring it out.....because. I think once a year to service the mast top is enough.

Like many of the fixtures on a sailboat, such as hatches, light bulbs or fixtures, Hunter did not produce those items. I have seen many people ask questions regarding replacement parts. In your case, Hunter did not produce the product. So, if you want to save some money, get the numbers off your defective part and head to a hardware or ships store and spend $3.00

sorry to bother,

was trying to avoid an extra trip up the mast. I believe the mast head is the same as the foredecklight, but havent been up the mast recently to check. and i did not write the bulb types on the spares list I made. Also, If i had the number of the old bulb, I would purchase the longest life version I could find online.

it wasnt a question about the money. more about the safety. Just trying to minimize the trips up and down.

I am well aware that no sailboat vendor manufactures discrete hardware. lol

I thought someone on here might have done it recently.

We just used one of our foredeck nav bulbs to replace a burned out masthead anchor light bulb.. Actually remembered to take one up with me..
Pictures seem like a great idea..Doing that next.

I was able to determine what kind of anchor light my boat has (and thus, the kind of bulb needed) by taking a photo from ground level with a big zoom lens, and then comparing it to product photos online.
