Contact Beneteau

I was trying to track down a Schaefer block (that matched the genoa and main halyard blocks at the mast base for my B321) a couple of weeks ago at the Rigging Shop in Toronto - Their suggestion was a choice of bringing in one of the blocks I was trying to match and they would make something up - or to go back to Beneteau - - Apparently Beneteau is notorious for slightly modifying a number of parts so that they become a "dealer only " item - I haven't gone to the dealer yet - but it's on my list

Order Online from Beneteau

I just ordered a couple of mast base blocks for my 331. They were available through their online system for $30 each. Best price I could find. I have added a winch, clutch and organizer on the port side of the cabin top to fly a spinnaker. Prices through Beneteau were about $200 less than West Marine or Defender. Give Todd or Ward a call if you can't figure out how to navigate the system. They are always very helpful. Good luck. Mark

The best quality blocks and stuff can be found at http://garhauermarine.com/ I have replaced many of the original blocks with these with fantastic results. Jim

Block type

Eric - I have been replacing the stock blocks with Lewmar. Garhaeur will do just fine as well. Actually, anything is better than the stock stuff. I am curious as to what kind of set up are you trying to achieve? In case you are curious, I am flying an assymetrical spinnaker. It's not that great for downwind speed, but really easy to set, fly and douse. I have a block attached to a hole conveniently placed in the anchor plate for the tack line. The tack line is then run back aft through one of the clutches. I wish I had a sprit like the J105 or J120. In any case, I am planning to add a full spinnaker to my wardrobe for when I do the Ha Ha in '08.
