My boat is a '92 33.5. I'm looking for advice on mast setup. I haven't changed the length of the roller furler, so I started with the assumption that the length of the headstay is correct. With the shrouds tuned to just tight enought to prevent looseness on the leeward side I get quite a bit of bend (fore/aft curve) in the mast. Also I had to adjust the backstay to quite taut to prevent the roller furler from rubbing in the hole at the bow when the sail is loaded. Now it makes me wonder what the proper headstay length adjustment should be? And with all of that bend in the mast, is my mainsail shape proper? Any advice appreciated.
