Mast for C250

Hello everyone,
First time post, and first time sailboat owner. I purchased a 2002 C250 WK. It needs a mast, the one on it hit a bridge.

Catalinadirect said i needed a very costly refit, US Spar quoted a new unit and rigging for a bit over 3k but i have been told ( everyone is an expert right) that i can stick a mast from a C25 or really any mast that is close and it can be rigged and this would be a much cheaper option.

Can anyone shed some light on what i should look for or what questions i should ask.

We bought the boat on a whim and love it but are completely lost as far as a mast. It seems that the C250 Wing Keel was not the longest running design.
