We had some nasty storms in New York last Thursday and the mast on my Hunter 22 broke off. The mast is cracked and will have to be replaced. Any suggestions on where to look for a new /used mast?

I have actually seen quite a few on ebay. It may be worth contacting this surplus outfit in FL. They claim to be able to ship cheaper than you think. If the rig is masthead I found an I of 27 ft. for your 22. This mast is 27" 2" and $950 without S&H.

Other solutions are to weld the crack, sleeve the cracked area or buy a brand new extrusion http://www.rigrite.com/A-Main/spar_M.html but I don't know if their RI location means that the mast sections are in RI or come from elsewhere. I strongly suggest you post a photo of the crack so you get the best possible advice from the helpful and knowledgeable sailors on this site.
