I have a question regarding the mast crutch mounting hardware on a `94 23.5. Where the mast crutch bottom meets the lip of the hull/deck seam at the back of the boat is a circular foot that the crutch sits over. Directly beneath this is a hole on the bottom of the hull that can be seen when looking up at the bottom of the boat. Through this hole you can see a nut which I assume holds this circular foot for the mast crutch. Does anyone know, should there be a sealed plug (or cover) on this hole ? thanks

I can give you an answer on Sunday...

...about my boat. It's 90 minutes away but I'm going up to the lake for the weekend. It's not in the water yet so it is easy to check. ...RickM...

Mine Has a Screw From the Bottom

Only time I ever see it is when I am Painting the bottom. Could you have lost the screw and the caulking be holding the piece and the nut on? Could be a hard item to find a replacement for if lost.

Screw head

My bottom is painted, but I just see a (paint-covered) head of a screw with a Philips head, countersunk such that there is a small depression there. As Rick said, it sounds like you lost that screw? ...RickM...
