I am looking for replacement blocks for the original mast collar Garhauer blocks used for the single line reefing system. These blocks have a pin that goes through the collar and is held in place by a nut screwed on to the threaded end of the pin. I can't find them on Garhauer's site and wonder if anyone else makes them. What other alternatives exist to adding or replacing blocks on this type of collar? Thanks.

Why don't you call Garhauer. I think they will be able to help you, and you will save some big bucks in the process.

Garhauer?

Pretty sure? I have the same ones I think, but I don't believe they are Garhauer. I suspect the were OEM with the Z-Spar mast, so they may not be domestic US. In fact, follow the link and you should be in business. Rick D.

Rick D...

my '94 35.5 has Isomat mast and boom, I imagine RickN's is the same. I'm looking for a way to add one more turning block to my mast step base as well. Stock blocks have a spring below the block that helps it "stand up". Can't tell if they are threaded into the base or attached from underneath. Where's Alan when you need him;)? Anyone know what's up with these blocks?

Garhauer Mast Blocks

I bought 2 replacements last spring from Garhauer for my 35.5, and this is what I found. The new ones have a different size nut (the part under the mast collar) and threaded shaft. The difficulty was that the nuts on the new ones were too thick to slide under the mast collar, and I couldn't use the old nuts with the new blocks because the threading was different. I was able to do some scavenging of old parts from the old block, putting them into the new block to make things work. But everything that I've heard and experienced from Garhauer regarding customer service is that they are outstanding. I'd suggest pulling out one of the old blocks, measure nut and threaded shaft, call Garhauer and tell them what you have and what you need. I believe that they'll take care of you. T J

NEVER a waste of time when you chime in ;). Thanks for trying to help! And TJ, thanks for your answer. Found my "rigging diagram" in the owners manual and they are definitely Garhauer blocks. I'll give 'em a call.
