I am rewiring a 25 Mast and I am getting ready to snake some wires for the anchor light and combination steaming deck light. I am having trouble removing the bottom butt plate due to the dissimilar metal corrosion between the mounting screws and the mast. They won't budge and they are Allen head screws. Other than drilling them out, does anyone have a good technique for removing screws like this? John S Boise

I drilled them and removed the plate. Thanks for the suggestion, but we were running three separate wires (anchor,steaming and deck lights) with a ground wire for each and I am talking good 2 connector marine wire in 14 and 12 gauge (a large OD wire). We needed to reach inside a couple of times and actually rerun the snake once to get it perfect. Also, I wanted to use existing wire exit holes at the mast base and I needed to hand feed the wire through. I can't let anything less than perfect go out of my hands. I'll recut threads on the base plate holes and put some corrosion inhibitor on them, but I don't expect to be back in this area ever again! John S Boise
