Hello, Quick question: If you have mast without a backstay, like the B R rig on new Hunters, how do you bend the mask when the wind picks up? Or, is that something you can't do, so you resort to other methods of tuning the sails when the wind picks up? Thanks, Barry

Built into the rig.

Barry: If you look at the Hunter manuals that are online, you will see that the bend is built into the mast before it is stepped on the boat. The early B & R rigs used backstays too. What type of a spar do you have?

No bend if you have a roller furling main

Standard rigs are pre-bent. Roller furling main masts are straight. Don't bend them.
