Mast Bail

Has anyone installed a mast bail to run the lines to the cockpit? If so, how did you install the bail? Did you use a spacer inside the mast? Thru-bolt?

Thanks,
Jack

Jack,
not quite sure what a 'mast bail' is but if it's any help, the lines on my boat are led aft via turning blocks. Some of them are shackled to the kicker eye on the mast, plus on the sides of the mast there are cleats bolted on, through which goes a large bow shackle, onto each of which another two or three blocks can be shackled.
I'm just in the process of re-designing my coachroof layout to go with my new boom as I now have a loose-footed mainsail and want to lead the outhaul back to the cockpit as well.
Cheers,

Rob

For a picture of what may be a mast bail - look at photo 4 in photo
section under Mystic Rose. Not sure how it is attached at the base of
the mast - probably through-bolted with backing washers. Can check next
time I'm at the boat. Trevor V2915
