Hey Crazy Dave there is no doubt you are indeed a legend. Its 21.30 hrs on Monday night in Western Australia and I thought I would give Greg at Hunter in America a call because the wiring diagram in the 260 manual does not appear correct for I am having trouble with my steaming light not working. He checked his records for my particular yacht and yes it is fitted with a US spar. When we purchased the yacht brand new it came with not one but two manuals for Seldon masts hence my belief that the spar was indeed a Seldon. However you have done it again Dave. "its a US spar" Perhaps Dave you can let me know what sought of quality they are. I thought that originaly US spars might have had a French background? Regards from the wild West

us spar

US Spars is nothing more than the old Z spar. Z spar is a French company that use to sell many spars to Hunter. They got into trouble when they purchased Kenyon Isomat, let go everyone at both facilities with only four folks that moved to Charlotte. Without the proper move and folks, they got behind and in fact I had to wait 6 months for a mast. Hunter had no choice except to go elsewhere. The folks that moved from Florida to Charlotte were told to move by management in France. For the record, the folks here in the US were good caring people and the masts are good ones. Since Z spar from what I understand has folks looking for them regarding bills, I doubt that name will ever reappear in the US. However, US spars is run by Julian which in affect is the z spar extrusions and he does a good job with attention to detail and customer service. YOu should have three wires to the light with one for negative and two hots as the light has two bulbs with a divider. If you turn on the swithch and find the steaming light which is 180 degree forward is actually a 360 degree light, you can change the wires on the hot leads at the electrical panel inside the boat. Dave I have Checked the lights

Yeass there are two globes up there. When the steaming switch is activated the front globe lights up which of course is correct but when the switch is moved over to the postition of anchor light no bulbs are illuminated. I guess I will have to ivestigate further as to how this all works.

check the switch

More than likely, one side of the switch is bad, which is easy enough to tell with a multimeter.
