I bought Journey as a hurricane damaged boat. I just purchased a 1980 H30 mast does any one have sugestions on the problems I may have installing this mast vs the original style? Or what I may need to do Thanks, John

well...

You have a mast from a completely different model boat. I wouldn't even attempt to retrofit it to your newer model H30.

with a positiva attitude anything can be done

When I purchased my 1992 Hunter 30, it didn't have the mast, boom or standing rigging. I was lucky enough to purchase a nearly brand new mast from C&C 99. All I had to do was to get a custom fabricated SS deck plate and custom SS standing rigging. Now I have a better mast than original (racing mast) and stronger rigging than original. Good luck, you can do it, you just have to find a shop that can fabricate a stainless steel deck plate and you you need to buy new standing rigging and the rest is easy. Good Luck.

yes it is and Steve...why not they are both isomat masts and I have the sails from the 1980 plus the P.O. had cut the original mast 4ft to get under the bridges. That should mean that the sails I got with the 1990 and the 1980 should be close I believe to be within 2 inches. I think I can move the forestay down to the same specs as the 1990. P.O. said that after he had the original cut down he really didn't notice any performance change.
