Marshall Cat M22 Plymouth
Hello All,
I'm looking to purchase a Marshall Cat M22 1965. The rudder/steering unit is binding. Does anyone have an idea for a quick fix?
Is the rudder attached at the base ? Thanks

Ok, now we are getting somewhere . I'm going on the assumtion you have a wheel to steer your ship by . What I would do is unbolt the tillerfrom the top of the rudder .Now check to see if there is binding from just the rudder . Now you have the wheel and gear seperated ,spin the wheel and check for binding. My guess ,and that's all it is ,the binding is coming from the steering linkage . Loosen up each component until there is no longer binding .My feeling is that you are going to find grime and lack of lubrication to be the culprit . Please let us know what you found .
