marks from stickers

I removed the registration numbers from the Cat. 22 that I just bought. I also removed the name on the side of the boat. The hull is a different shade of white under the numbers and name. I tryed to rub that out but did not have much luck. Is there anything that I can do about this? Will this just fade in time and if so about how long does that take? Any help will be helpful. Gelcoat fades

Assuming you're not talking about the adhesive residue from the stickers, (Acetone works OK on that), you've likely just had the gelcoat not under the numbers/letters fade faster in the sun than that under. A good cleaning and wax job might help somewhat, but most likely you just have to wait until the now-uncovered gel coat fades, too.
