As the restoration of my '67 Mariner nears the end I would like to install the rigging for a spinnaker. Anyone out there who has a description or a diagram? All help greatly appreciated, Andre

Spinnaker

Hi Andre - Are you looking to install gear for a conventional spinnaker or gennaker? The former will require some or all of the folowing: mast track, mast ring, spin pole with bridles for topping lift and foreguy downhaul, sheets, halyard. A gennaker will require sheets and halyard. As you can tell, a gennaker is a lot easier to rig and sail! Both will require snatch blocks to attach to the aft cleats or pad eyes for the sheets. You could just use you genoa/jib primary winches to simplify. Take a look at several sailing texts out there to clarify rigging, but it should be relatively simply on a smaller boat such as the Mariner. Hope this helps, Trevor
