Mariner features

We're cleaning out our '75 Mariner and found two stainless brackets attached to the inner hull floor just forward of the centerboard (under a wooden cover). What were these originally designed for? Also, is there any literature available on this particular model? I have the parts list from Stuart Marine and notice they have an "owners packet". Does anyone have one of these packets and, if so, is it worthwhile?

There are two wood-coverd compartments

on my Mariner. The first one held the porta-potty, which I removed. Just forward of that compartment is another wood-covered section which held a water tank. Could those brackets be for either of these conveniences? Scooter

Wood Covered Compartments

Thank you, Scooter. It's possible that the porta potty went here. It's only a three sided space in the center, the bottom of which is at foot level on the cabin floor[aft of the mast compression post(?)]. The sink is on the port side of this and a wooden covered compartment to the starboard side of it. That's where the metal brackets are. Can't be certain because there are no illustrations or pix with the parts lists that I've seen.
