Marinebeam foredeck LED bulb for Aquasignal 25

Some may remember my bitching about the foredeck 20w bulb failures in the Aqua Signal 25 combo light:

So I thought long and hard about this. Ended up buying the Marinebeam specialized replacement bulb (pic).
Put it in today.
It's not as bright as the old 20w halogen, but it actually works. And it lights up enough (pic below taken this evening) to see for anchoring, etc., with a more subtle light which may be better for preserving night vision.
It uses 1.2 watts, equivalent to 15 watt standard, but with all of the light focused with a directional lens. With the drastically reduced current requirement, and marine grade construction, I'm hoping this bulb will last a huge amount longer than the standard 1-2 years of the other.

I wonder if you can also get them in night vision red?
Nope.
But I've seen ba9s bulbs in colors including red at Superbrightleds. Although you should check their output ratings re a foredeck light. I've obtained other bulbs there including wedge bulbs for my breaker panel, a 9s warm white for the chart light, and a .68w (54ma) warm white anchor bulb with slightly more lumens than the 10w incandescent. And it was $7.

Someone posted a review on MarineBeam also saying it wasn't as bright as the halogen. My replacement LED deck light was shaped like the halogen it replaced. I'm pretty happy with the results

I think it closely resembles moonlight. On a full super moon.
It's very easy on the eyes on deck, just don't look at the bulb. I don't like cool white, much prefer the, well, warmth, of warm white. But in this application I think it works well and will maintain night vision better which is important while anchoring.

Our boat also had a halogen deck light bulb that I replaced with the BA9 from Marinebeam. To me the BA9 seems brighter than the halogen. Either way it does a nice job of illuminating the foredeck. Very happy with its performance.

Is it the same bulb as the picture above, or another 9s from Marinebeam?
