Try Peter Hartoft and Gale Browning in Annapolis. I used him several yeasr ago and found him to be very thorough. He has a very good reputation as well. Gale is a world class sailor and circumnavigator. http://www.hartoftmarinesurvey.com/peter.html

I agree with the previous
posters that Hartoft and Browning are very good surveyors. One of things I like about them is that they will do an "update survey" of a boat that they have recently surveyed. Big savings there is you can make that work for you. I personally also like Mike Previti (410-610-8761 or look him up on the BoatUS site) who is based out of Solomon's. He is one of the few surveyors I know who will climb the mast and check out things at the masthead. He'll also join you for a sea trial, and will give you the basic report of the boat surveyed on the spot (followed up by written report some time afterward). However, he is a bit pricey...but worth it.
