mine is under the head sink

This works out well, and lets ducts easily run to the salon (bulkhead just aft of the sink - where the control is as well) and to the v-berth. The doors to the cabinet under the head sink have been cut out and faced with chair cane to provide an air return. The cane is backed with an ac-filter material which needs to be cleaned regularly when in use. Pump is in the bilge aft of the table.

quarterberth cabinet

A friend installed his in the q-berth cabinet. Actually he rebuilt the top section of the cabinet to eliminate the little shelf in front of the doors and put the AC unit in there. If you are good finish carpenter this could work, but then you still have the problem of where/how to run ducts.

Debra B. re under head sink

Am looking at this option. Would you layout for me in greater detail how you did it and the routing of the duck work, espically to the salon. Does your air intake face the doors? How did you rearrange the water lines and drain under the sink?
