Marine Air

Unless you are discharging water overboard, normally, the marine air is not working. Usually it's because the system is new (or been taken apart) and it must be primed or reprimed in order to get the water moving. Follow the directions for priming the system and you'll be in business.

Hot or cold?

If the A/C is still cold after about 10 min, then it is discharging water someplace. When I lose the prime in my pump, I know it real fast. I look out side to confirm what I already know. Also in the heat mode there will be cold air coming out if the pump stops.

Yes, Cleaning the Filter

can cause you to lose your prime. I made the mistake about a month ago to clean my filter just before closing up the boat. When I came back a week later, the pump was sucking air. Of course it was late on a Friday night when I arrived at the boat and it was cold. Had to disconnect the hose inside the boat where it pumps the water out and pour water down it. Once I poured enough water down thru the A/C unit to the water pump, it would work. What had happened was that the impellers in the pump had dried out and it wouldn't pull the water in.
