Any word on what is or soon to open out there? My wife is being sent out there to help reopen the hospital at Keesler. Wondering about where to plan on tieing up to vist with the boat.
The only marina I am familiar with in the Biloxi area that is currently open is Pt. Cadet, which is located right behind the Isle of Capri casino. There may be others but I am not aware of any. Pt. Cadet is still pretty beat up, and as of a month ago had no power on the transient dock I was on. Hope this helps.
I am familiar with Point Cadet. I figured it would likely be in better shape than the others as it was mostly all concrete and had a very substantial sea wall. I suspect Kramer Marine did better than others way far down in the Back Bay but have not heard about any of them. When we lived there we kept our boat at the Long Beach harbor I am sure it was completely wiped out. We are going to drive out and visit in a couple of weeks I am sure it is going to be a shock to see what it looks like now.
Last I heard, Oak Harbor is not yet open. They have the liveaboards staying there, but as far as I know, there's still no power. You might get away with tying up for a night, but I wouldn't count on it.
I go by Oak Harbor a few times a week, I don't beleive they are allowing any transient docking. You might be better off anchoring in the Geohagen Canal, great little lagoon in the marsh. Probably be their myself Saturday night.
