Marina Recommendation in the Carolinas

I am evaluating a move from Ohio to either Wilmington, NC, or Charleston, SC and plan to live aboard. I am interested in opinions/experience with marinas in those areas that I should consider. I am looking for a marina with easy deep water access to the ocean and with good shore facilities (showers, laundry, pool, proximity to shopping, trustworthy yard, etc...). Can anyone offer ideas?

I am unable to name a specific marina in Charleston, SC, but the owner of a marina in Newburyport, MA, usually sails his 49' Hylas to the Bahamas with his wife each winter but stayed in Charleston, SC last winter and loved both the marina and area. Both Charleston and Wilmington, NC have about a dozen marinas so doubt you would have no problem locating suitable one in either location. If you plan to live aboard I would think Charleston would provide the better weather. My wife and I have visited Charleston and it is a great area. If you visit Charleston be sure to eat at Hyman's Seafood.
