Personal Pref

Hey Bob, Were you at the Marina at 1 Division St? Begins with and N ends in an N with a T in the middle? Ha Ha Ha.... If so I fully agree and I'm going to get out myself, for all the same reasons and a few extra. Scratched the boat taking it out and all that... Regards, Chris

Choosing a Marina

Merrythought is at a marina that is a basic, no-frills type but offers great haulout and storage, deep water slips, pool and A/C heads, and is 15 minutes from the house. Parking is almost directly behind the slip so no need for a dock cart. The downside is that it is not directly on the Chesapeake Bay for better day sailing.

All things count

We spend the weeekends at the Marina or in an anchorage for half the year. We needed a marina with the following features: -clean -close enough for a weekly commute -friendly and helpful staff -amenities for the kids like a pool -well protected harbor for our boat -easy access to the Chesapeake cruising grounds We found this and more at Herrington Harbor South.

Close to ...

Maryland Marina will be the fourth marina for us on the Chesapeake since 1993. Marina-hopping is a recognized sport on the Bay. However, this choice puts the Nevermore close to: 1) home - relatively, about an hour 2) where we sail - Middle River is in the middle of the upper bay. Also, the winds are mostly southerly, except when they are northerly. So, we can reach across the bay most days. 3) where many of our sailing friends (NSHSA) are.
