Do any of your docks have emergency pull down ladders? If so, do you know the manufacturer? Thanks.

They have some in the WM catalog

Richard: They have some in the West Marine Catalog. Look in the anchoring & docking section.

Don't need anything that fancy just stick an old

ladder section into the water until it hits bottom and tie it to the dock. Or nail cleats to a piling.

Be careful, danger...

I know of two marinas that bought and installed them. They are designed for a person standing on the dock to lower. A person in the water who needs to rescue himself can not get them down. The marinas are trying to figure out what to do. The literature is misleading. If you decide to buy, get and install a sample and try to get it down from the water. There may be other designs that I have not seen. Allan

Dock Ladders

I thought all marinas were required to have ladders installed for safety reasons. I guess from the question this is not a universal practice. Seems like a simple solution to me. A "pull down" ladder seems like overkill. A few 2 x 4's ought to do the job.

We have wooden ladders build into the

docks as required by NJ state law. I have also seen metal ones. They are fixed and extend all the way into the water. How would you pull down a ladder when you are all ready in the water?
