I've looked at a few Iinternet sites for hard copy maps. None of the sites define the location well enough for me to know whether I'm buying more map than I need. Plus I just don't know what "brand" is best for cruising. I plan to do the Lake Erie Islands in early October for a week, going across to Lemington, too. Any suggestions for a good map(s). I'll have a Garmin 76CS and iQue 3600 with Bluecharts loaded, but wish to have the hard copy for easier reading and peace of mind - that lake is shallow in places! Thanks in advance.

Richardson's Lake Erie Chart Book
For about $80, this new edition will give you all the charts you need for the whole Lake. It also gives you detailed charts of most of the harbors on the Lake. Otherwise, there is a US chart for the Lake Erie Islands that gives you the needed detail for cruising or anchoring in the islands. You would need another Canadian chart for the waters from Pelee Island to Leamington. Good Luck! We just finished a 9 days cruise that included anchoring off Kelly's, Scudder Marina on Pelee Island, and a mooring ball in Put-in-Bay. We love the islands! David Lady Lillie

check out the West Marine website and order charts there, or, go to the store locater, find a store in MI or OH, call them and order this way. The other suggestions are good ones also, however, are somewhat pricey (even Richardson's is something like $70-90.00, although I still use my 1995 edition)...good luck and fair winds....
