Can anyone tellme where I can get a hunter 27 manual 1980? Or how about a few questions answered - Where is the water tank? Is it the tank under the Vberth? - Does the water system have a pump? If so is it electric? Where is it? My 27 does not have external water fill and waste tank outlets. Does anyone know the best way or route to install these? Thanks in advance

The best way to find answers to your questions is

by tracing the plumbing from the toilet to find out where it goes, and from the sink to find out where it goes. The hoses in each system will not look the same, so if you lose one behind a bulkhead, you can't accidentally pick up the wrong one on the other side of it. Few things on a 21 year old boat are likely to be original, so you may get several different answers to each of your questions. Exploring your own boat is the best way to see what you really have and what condition it's in.

Archives for Manual URL

Sorry I don't have the link - search the archives on the word manual, and you'll find a link to a manual on-line for the Cherubini h27 (combined with other models of the same period.) Original water tank was aluminum under the v-berth. Filling is by hose through the forward hatch. Our '77 h27 has manual pumps at both sinks, but some have pumped systems with pressure tanks - don't know if any of these were original. Heads came in several versions. We have a portapotty with a good pump-out hose to a deck fitting, and a small gas outlet under the toe rail in the side. This really works for day cruises between marinas, with an occasional stop on the anchor or a mooring ball. But I have heard of almost every possible approach on sister boats. By the way, Peggie is right as always! Good luck, David Lady Lillie

Rick, In my H27 the fresh water tank is an aluminum one under the v-birth. You have to lift the cushions and lift the access panel to get to it. I have manual pumps both in the head and in the sink. When I first bought it it had a marine head with direct discharge overboard. I had to put a holding tank in with a sanitary fitting on the deck. Let me know if you have any more questions.

On my boat...

I have an external water fill in the anchor locker on the deck. The holding tank drain is located on the forward gunnel/starboard side. The water tank is under the portside V-berth (pumping unit below-should be a door to access the pump, as well as, the holding tank hoses etc. I have an '82 Hunter 27. Hope this helps...

'81 Locations

I have an '81 Hunter 27. The external water fill is located in the anchor locker on deck. The water tank is located under the portside V-berth. The holding tank is located on the starboard side under the V-berth. The pump out is located foward on the starboard side deck. Both tanks are fiberglass and appear to be part of the liner in the foward berth. The water pump is located on the bulkhead between the Lav sink and the V-berth, again under the V berth. Remove the cushions from the V-berth and you may find two access ports to the tanks like mine. You will also be able to access the water pump via a removable access cover in the corner next to the bulkhead. You can also access the pump through the access door beneath the V-berth.
