Owners manual detail.
The manual is VERY generic when it comes to the motor, etc... No details on manufacturers or that sort of thing. It does imply that all the engines were of Yanmar manufacture. In my case, my boat was repowered in 1988 with a 2GM20F when the original motor was a 12 hp Yanmar. The previous owner was nice enough to leave the reciept with the rest of the documents... along with the manual. IMO the best thing about the manual is the layout and specifications pages with the I,J,P,E, LOA, displacement etc. I recently purchased a sail and even though the HOW site says all the Hunter 30's are the same from 74-83... they aren't. My mast is taller and the boom shorter than the one shown in the spec page for my boat. Again... most of the manual is very generic descriptions of how to anchor, dock, clean the teak trim etc... that you can get from any sailing book in a lot more detail. Or here for that matter. That the manual is good for any Hunter model of that year, should tell you something about how specific it is. So if you want a copy of the specifications for your 1980 boat or just want to compare yours against that year... ask away but I would rather not scan the page that tells you how to test the bilge pump occasionally with a bucket of water.
