Peggy,Do you know of anyone who can supply a replacement Hand pump assemlby for an old 1980 Masfield head 751 model. I have searched but cannot find one. My only other alternative is to install a new head which is going to be a XXXX job.Crazy Dave Condon

Replace the toilet...

It's at least 20 years old, and not worth putting ANY money into even if parts were still available for it--which they aren't. Mansfield was bought by SeaLand in 1984...SeaLand discontinued making manual toilets shortly afterward...no parts have been available for the 751 for at least 15 years...the 752 for about 10 years. Replacing a toilet is NOT that bad a job. All you have to do is remove the mounting lagbolts and disconnect the hosesc(close the seacocks first!)...take the toilet out. Fill the holes, drill new ones for the mounting bolts on the new toilet, screw 'em down, and reconnect the hoses. Shouldn't take you more than an hour.

Changed brands a couple of times.

CDC:I have replace my original head with a Groco, and then with a Jabsco. Each time I only need to drill one or two new holes. Seems that there were a couple that lined up!!! The hoses where a snap each time. Takes less time to put in a new one that trying to rebuild one.

This boat has a bladder style holding tank with no gate valve to shut it off from back filling. The owner is oblivous to this and I will pump out but still the thought of XXXX and I will wear my glovves and mask. Thanks for the imput and folks like you and I on the forum do help others. Pump out, flush out,, put a LOT of white vinegar .

into it and let that sit overnight before starting any work.What exactly do you mean, "no gate valve to shut it off from backfilling?" Surely you don't mean there's no seacock on the thru-hull...
