Thinking of buying a Chrysler man-o-war for small lakes and for practice sailing anyone know much about them

Sailed a Chrysler Mutineer for a while- similar boat- decent sailor- won some races with it

A google search will turn up a wealth of knowledge about the boat. Looks a bit like a sunfish but with a different rig.

Should be a fun boat on a lake.

Life is short. Get a good price. Look for any soft spots on the deck near where there is hardware, around the Center board trunk, the stern or around the mast. With a boat like that you can make repairs but cost should reflect the repairs needed.

+1 to the above. Also lay out the sail and check for any tears/holes/etc. Check the rudder hardware. It's supposed to have a self baler - check if it's operable. I believe there is a screw that closes so when you aren't moving it can be closed and water doesn't come in. There may be a ball inside it that's supposed to float up and close it off in case you forget. It's all simple enough, just price should reflect condition. Looks like a fun boat!

It’s only 300$ with a trailer all rigging is there one sail don’t think I can go wrong?

Not to bad. Only 37 Big Mac with cheese sandwich medium fries and a medium drink meals. Go for it. Less fattening.
