Weird. I am having a tough time getting excited about sailing this year. I must be off my feed or something. Lots of stuff on my plate maintenance wise and I just can't seem to get started on anything be it house, yard, car or boat related.

In some ways I think if I just get off my @ss and get some stuff done I will feel lots better.

Check your diet too; maybe you have a nutrient deficiency. A stop in to say hello to your physician might be a good idea if it's more than the to-do lists that you're shying away from.

L-O-N-G weekend

The long weekend helped. Took my Wife out for a nice dinner at an Inn we have been staying and dining at for years http://www.clamberhill.com/

Sunday I decided to stay home and work around the house so I could enjoy my trip the to boat today rather than stress about all the things I had to do at home. I took care of a number of small nagging things that had built up, vacuumed the pool and tackled what turned out to be a bitch of a job. I had two skylights replaced when we did the roof nearly two years ago. I had a carpenter trim out the interiors a year ago...finally gave up on doing it myself, but I still had to paint one and stain the other. Painting seemed easier to deal with so I pulled the glass/frame off and flipped it over on a tarp on the roof to paint it. I also reached down through the skylight to paint most of it. Still took nearly three hours to do a few coats...including the thunderstorm that passed through...guy upstairs is really looking out for me LOL.

So I got up early this morning, went grocery shopping, then headed off to the boat. I had lunch at the club and then went aboard. Beautiful day for a sail, but I realize that the unfinished GPS Chartplotter project really has been the bane of sailing this year so I resolved to get it hooked up at last. It took a few hours to pull the cockpit table and snake all the wires I needed through the tubing to the Navpod. I still have to hook up the remote stereo control and ipod jack, but the chartplotter is working...just not with connections up to proper standards yet....just twisted and taped.

Short daysails across the same water was really getting to me and the GPS chartplotter will aid me in navigating confidently around Boston's Harbor Islands. I had hoped to range further this year, but taking a new job has but my vacation time back to three weeks.
