Hope this helps

Has been discussed somewhat on this forum. The consensus (as I recall) was the difficulty in draining a shower on a boat with a water ballast - in that there is no bilge as most boats have. Now if you will consider an outside shower, even beyond the hanging solar bag shower, you could install an exterior shower head (in most catalogs) and take your shower in the cockpit. Even arrange a curtain of sorts hanging from the boom. You would need to install a water pump of course. As for myself, I have a 6 gallon solar bag strapped to the deck near the mast, and hoist it up with the unused jib halyard (tie a loop from the bag around the mast). If it’s not sunny enough to heat the water, we will eventually hit a marina at some point. Have even used the water in the solar bag for cooking on a cruise that took a bit longer between points than we thought.

We have two pressure sink faucets

We installed a 25 gallon bladder type tank under the galley on our H26 and added a Shurflow 12 volt pump, 2 faucets, one at each sink and a hidden shower setup with 8 foot of hose in the rear starboard combing, just forward of the outboard area, deck level. Hose runs were simple, systems works well. All stuff is available though West Marine or Defender etc. My only change would be a bigger flexible tank placed forward under the v-berth, a future consideration.

Tracy, BUY THE BOAT !

All your questions, answers and ideas are very good and easy to make happen. Just think......"If I owned this boat, I could go down to her tomorrow and start to plan how to install this shower." I know by now you've probably found a friend with a truck to haul her home. The price is right, and you've found alot of friends on this web site to help out with the mechanical/repair end. I'd bet many are close enough to help you learn to sail if that is needed ....... so grab the dream and make a wake. Good luck, I'm pullin for ya. Ray S/V Speedy 95 H26
