And this storm was mostly off shore. When we get a big sloppy wet low pressure system from the gulf and an arctic cold front coming together in Virgina and then heading north we will all stay home and shovel snow for a while.

Spent 2 hours this morning digging out. :cussing: Of course, I should have thought ahead and dug the snowblower out of the shed and into the garage, but too complacent with the mild Dec / Jan.

On the positive side, we sure need the precipitation / snow to help the Great lake levels. Lake Huron / Michigan set an all time record low for Jan. beating the previous low from the 60's.

Lost power for a day. First time ever fired up the Honda U2000i to power the furnace and fridge. We only got a foot of snow but a tree fell on some power line near by.

Very intense storm - crazy wind. But, the boat survived, and so did the tarps!

We had to break the stupid driving ban to bring our friends a propane heater. They are living aboard this winter in Quincy and only have electric heat. When they lost power, they had to use the alcohol stove/oven to keep them from freezing.

While we were there we helped another liveaboard who's boat was sinking. The guy who lives on the power boat came home from work and found his boat listing. It looks like the bilge froze and the float switch could not operate. We couldn't use any pumps because there was no electricity. So we used 5 gallon buckets until someone could locate a gas powered pump. Got it upright, hopefully it stays that way.

We got about 16" + around Rochester, NY. Working for the local town, I spent some time plowing snow, but nothing for the record books! Sure is pretty today! Sun is out!

Let it snow ...

Ha! Sue likes to use the snowblower, so I shoveled the walk. This helps the skiing, but warm and rain tomorrow, I hear.:cussing:

It's 73 here now and I've had about 1/4 inch of rain so far today. The sun is shining right now though. This winter weather is tough. The low tonight is around 50. Can't put the winter coat away yet. Unfortunately, I am on-call at work and have had to go out in the middle of the biggest Mardi Gras weekend ( crowd and access-wise). I would much rather deal with some snow than drunk out of towners.

20". Hardly more than a dusting. I was snowblowing in a sweatshirt this morning. I wonder when it's going to get cold?
