I am quite new to sailing with my new-2-me Catalina MKII. I have had a few powerboats and know how to maintain them. Now for sail boats, what should be done? I am familiar with engines, gelcoat, teak, etc. But what does one do about lines (halyards/sheets), cams, clutches, blocks, furlers, sails, etc. Cleaning of course, but any lubrication or anything else? How about the gooseneck? I used to soak my lines in downey fabric softener at the end of each season. Any reason not to do that with halyards and sheets?
Any and all advice is welcome!
