When you get your 31 read all your manuals and they should include all the maintenance schedules. You should have a separate book for your engine. The critical items are valve adjustments, filter changes and operation (routine) of all your thru hulls.They offer some diesel classes locally (SF area). It is also important to carry a spare water pump impeller and gasket and fan belt and know how to change them. I did see the new 31 and think that Catalina really did a great job on it.Good luck
