My thoughts..
I sailed a Precision 165 for 8 years that had the aft boom mounted mainsheet.. It had only one good benefit, and that was it allowed the Bimini Top to move forward over the cabin entrance. I absolutely hated the interference all the sheets had when the winds were light. They would tangle on everything, rudder, tiller, motor, ladder, flag etc. I hated sheeting behind me when I was looking forward. Now that I got the Hunter 23.5 and the mid boom sheeting, I'm happy again. If you want a traveler, just put one in where the block is now. Here is a picture of a Precision converted to mid-boom with a traveler.. This could easily be done on the Hunter.
