I have recently purchased a Beneteau 323 (second owner) and have sailed it 3 times, first sailing it 480 miles to my home port, no problem. Once home we sailed for a couple of hours during a weekend, no problem in lightesh winds, fortnight later sailed again in medium winds, no problem. Then I had a phone call from a friend to say that the mainsheet traveller had started to 'lift' away from the coachroof. Bearing in mind the boat is only just over 2 1/2 years old I have contacted original suppliers who have offered to contact Beneteau, 1 week later no response, but to be fair he said that most of Beneteau aftersales staff are at the Paris Boat show!!
The traveller has lifted on both sides of the coachroof to an equal amount, about 3/4 of an inch, the s/s bolt threads are visable, my question is how is the traveller attached to the coachroof? Is there a threaded nut attached to a plate? A washer and nut? or is it attached another way.
If you have experienced a simular issue how was it resolved. I'm reluctant to take too much apart at present in case Beneteau want to take a closer look.
Any suggestions or assistance apopreciated.
Thanks
