Mainsheet traveler bolcks

I am planning to add blocks to the main sheet traveler and would like to know if anyone has done this before. It appears that the nuts and washers for the bolts that hold the traveler to the cabin roof are hidden under the ceiling liner. To remove the liner appears to be a large job. Would the nuts for the traveler be imbedded in the fiberglass mounts? Do I have to cut access ports in the cabin roof? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Charlie

Removing the liner

on my 85 P-34 is not a big job, 10 screws, pry off plastic caps, backed off w/a screw gun. Your 303 I don't know. Traveller is through bolted to underside of deck. I've had it off a couple of times to service the traveller itself & then the hatch. Photo shows panel over Nav desk, same on port side.

Main Sheet Traveler Blocks

Hi Shorty,

Thanks for your reply. The liner in the 303 is one piece with no openings and it wraps around the sides and portholes all as one piece. I suspect that if I want to access the nuts that hold the traveler to the deck, I will have to cut through the liner and put a patch over the hole afterwards. I would send a picture but my camera is out of order.

Ugh!

that's too bad. D&R Marine has a lot of Pearson patterns & parts. Maybe they know about the attachment. Call 508 644-3001, they don't amswer e-mails. Also Rig-Rite (link below) has a lot of Pearson knowledge, plus 11 different traveller systems.

My PO installed mine through cabin roof

It is through bolted and there is a small ss plate on cabin ceiling. It looks just fine and seems to be solid.
