On our 1983 Catalina 30, I have been contemplating leading the mainsheet back to a second winch (to be added) behind the existing starboard Genoa winch, this to allow single handing of the mainsheet from the helm. I want to be able to let out and sheet in the main in puffs from the helm. My question is, has anyone tried this, and if so, what system of blocks/line routing was used (and how well did this work?). I have been racing on a C & C 30 for a couple of years, and really like the end boom sheeting (especially the mechanical advantage)they used...was even considering a similar arrangement for the Catalina, but I like the lack of sheets in the cockpit, hence my enquiry. Best Regards,Barry
