We use Schaeffer stainless steel fiddle blocks with a cam cleat on the bottom one. Sized for half inch rope, the sheet is 7/16 Sta-Set for comfortable handling.

Hi Dennis,
I bought a set of Garhauer blocks that came complete with 40' of 3/8" line, which I replaced with 7/16" line. They sell them as "boom vangs" in their catalog.

I bought the "30US 4-1" ($125)for the mainsheet and the "25US 4-1" ($110) for my vang.
They work very well, and I'd buy them again.

I've got a Harken 1556 and 1559 4:1. It's probably a bit large. The 4:1 works well most of the time, but it a bit hard to pull if I'm out with too much sail up. -Tim
