Mainsheet assembly

I have managed to bend the stud holding the shackle to the mainsheet assembly. I can see threads on the stud. Has anyone had experience with repairing one of the these? It must have happened raising the mast. Now it won't swivel and I am afraid it will break at the unopportune time.
I wrote Schaefer for advice. They sent me a catalog w/ a price list. Surely don't wish to replace this. The whole thing w/line retails for $675.00.

Mine snapped while I was raising the mast (!), just a couple of days ago. For now, I'm just using a D shackle in its place. I may add for a swivel later. I'm sure I can get a fiddle block for a lot less than 675.
