Oday 27 Lake Sinclair
I have an Oday 27, my Mainsail Traveller has always been in front of the main cabin hatchway. Has anyone with this model relocated it to the top of the cabin? I have the hardware to do it, just wondering about balancing the lines on the boom.

Sorry, but what do you mean balancing the lines on the boom....I would think you will really like the relocation and I would look around at other similiar 27's and see how they did it..

what I meant to say was , guidelines for attachment point on the boom. Read on someones post not to attach the lines less than 50 percent the length of the boom.

traveller with main sheet

here is a photo of my Oday 27 main sheet and traveller setup. The rigging you see for the main sheet is attached to bails on the boom, but it is jury rigged with the wrong block, the correct one has a jam cleat on it and that is how you secure the sheet. The one that came with the boat the sheves had disintegrated from the sun...I have since replaced all the funky running rigging, and the proper block is in place. However, you can see the placement of the traveller, and how the sheet is attached to the boom..The boat is a work in progress, with emphasis on being operational. While I don't shy away from working on the boat, I particularly enjoy being able to use it also..Good luck!
