What is the correct foot for a Catalina 30 , standard rig? I am looking to replace the original main with a new (loose foot) sail and am seeing both 11'6" and 12' foot sizes.

Standard rig has "E" measurement (foot of the sail) of 11.5', 12' is the tall rig.

Thanks for this. Seems correct.
I've been dealing with a sail loft in New York who seem to have this information reversed (hence my question in this forum). They claim that the specs for a tall rig stipulate 11'5" and that the standard rig goes with 12'.

I measured the boom length from the tack pin to the maximum foot I could get away with. It is over 12'. My new loose footed main outhaul is about 1/2' short from being two block. The P is also to the max plus it has a roach with the IRC numbers that is allowed. Fully battened and with a flattening reef for the few times that you really need a flat sail.

if you go to Bacons sails you will see a list of just about every boat ever made and the sails measurements. STD is 11.5 and Tall is 12.

Before buying new sails, I would suggest taking actual measurements from your own boat.
