Dear Fellow Sailers, I am hoping someone will be able to tell me how to attach the mainsail sheet to the boom. I have rigging instructions for the O'Day 22 but that attaches at the end of the boom, not the centerboard casing like mine. I have the block with the sheet fed through it, now I need to know how to attach it. I think there may be a piece missing, I need to know what it looks like. Thanks, Edwina

Boat Info

Edwina, I've never seen the day sailer rigged. There is a photo on this site under Boat Info. It looks like the main sheet should go from the centerboard trunk to a block at mid point of the boom then aft to a block at the end of the boom and then down to the top of the rudder. Do you have two blocks on the underside of your boom? Hopefully some kind day sailer owner/sailor will reply. Good Luck, Mike

Go to the National DS Site

Go to the national Daysailer Web site and you will find all sorts of photos and information on how to rig your boat.

Thanks for the response

Thanks for your kind reply, and you are correct, that's just the way the rigging goes. I just need an idea of the piece(s) I'm missing. It has been an adventure with this boat, I am enjoying every minute. Thanks again for your reply, Edwina

What a great picture-thanks! That's the way the rigging goes but the metal u-shaped piece on the block that attaches to the boom is smaller than the piece it should fit on-do you think I am missing a piece? The u-shaped piece has holes in it as if a pin should fit through it to secure it, does that seem right? Edwina
