Also from Sailrite, sticky back Insignia cloth in whatever colors you need. Cut it out and stick it on. Sewing around edges optional. That's how the sail makers do it, I don't think there are pre made logos available for most boats.

You *might* be able to get someone with a computer controlled vinyl cutter to cut out the insignia on the sticky back insignia cloth. I know someone who cut the registration numbers for my boat (from vinyl, the only way to get them all straight) and he might try it. I have no idea if a vinyl cutter would work for cutting the insignia cloth, but it might.

I had new sails made for my Boston Whaler Harpoon 4.6 by Schurr Sails of Pensacola. The insignia was cut from sticky back insignia cloth, but it looked horrible. It just wasn't the right proportions, etc. I had to send the sail back because they forgot to sew the batten elastic in one pocket, so I sent along the insignia in digital file format, that I had dug up somewhere. The sail came back perfect, and the insignia was spot on. I can only speculate they used some form of computer controlled cutter.

If you reached out to Judy Blumhorst at www.judybsails.com, I bet she could hook you up. She is an experienced West Wight Potter sailor and has made plenty of sails for WWP boats.

Back in the day, my Grandfather had a negative of his boat name design. He was a photographer, so he would use an enlarger to project the name onto name boards, and then trace the design with a pencil. Then we would paint between the lines. Updating to today, I suppose one could rig a digital projector to a computer, suspended above the work surface, and then project an insignia on the cloth, then cut directly using an Xacto knife. I'd love to try and see how it comes out, but that would be a PITA to make a rig to hold the projector.

Amazon has 14" vinyl cutters for $210: http://www.amazon.com/OrangeA-Plotter-Machine-Cutting-Software/dp/B016U80WEY I have no idea how well this would or wouldn't work. I don't know if it would do roll vinyl, either, which you could use to do registration numbers. You know, trying to find more than one thing you could use it for to justify the $200 bones. :D

When we had the first B323 web site, I was trying to develope a 'class' 323 burgee. I talked to the folks who make the B flags used at boat shows. They said due to copyrite infringement, they could not replicate the B logo. I always thought the manufacturers would do well to make an owner-to-flagmaker connection for such an item.

I was able to find Voyager 26 insignia by just going to google and typing in Voyager 26 insignia...maybe it's worth a try.
