I am looking for a mainsail gate. That is the metal tang that prevents the sail slides from comong out of the sail track when you lower the sail. To order this product from Rig-Rite I need to know the brand name of the spar and the dimentions. I don't have that information. Can anyone help me out? Morgan

Rudy @ RDmarine.com or Westmarine

One of the two of them will have it. I'd call Rudy and ask him the specs on that spar. He may have the sail gate/sail stop to fit your gear. Of course, you could try West Marine. I would bet you have a Kenyon mast and boom, and the sail slugs are round. If so, then you want this item from WestMarine. Track Stop, for Round Grooves 1/2" dia. - WM part number 108332 $9.49 USD Go to their website and search for "SailStop". But call Rudy first if your sail slot is not round.

sail gate

When i bought my boat 10 years ago i too was missing the sail gate ,i just made one to fit the gate with a piece of starboard and just drilles a hole to run a screw thru to attach to the mast ,after all all it does is prevent the slides from popping out of the track while raisine or lowering the sail,so save your cash and do it for less that a dollar

Thanks for the feed back. Question? What is STARBOARD and where do I find it? I've tried West Marine. No soap. The sail track is flat
