Anyone from Maine or up this way cruising - we're going to be sailing up to snow island next weekend. For those who've never been there (myself among them this week) Snow is the home of one-time single hand circumnavigation record holder Dodge Morgan, and is in the middle of a beautiful sheltered harbor at the top of Quahog Bay about four hours from Portland. We plan to leave from Falmouth Foreside on Friday night en route to the north anchorage at Cliff Island. Saturday morning we'll head up to Snow. Sunday we'll beat down to the Portland Headlight and head to Peaks for the reggae jam. Anyone out cruising next weekend would be welcome to hook up with us for any or all. Hail us on 9 as 'tako kichi.' Justin - O'day Owners' Web

Just Got Back.

Justin. The Maine Hunter Sailing Association(MHSA) flotilla just returned on Friday from a 13 day "Downeast" cruise. We cruised for 13 days as far as Swan's Island (Mackerel Cove) and return with stops at Camden, Buck's Harbor, Rockland, Boothbay Harbor, through the Deer Isle and Fox Isle thorofares,to name a few. We covered about 275 NM and encountered little weather situations. There were plenty of seals, porpoises, a shark and a bald eagle. This was my first "Maine" experience and have to say it was one of my best ever. I will compare our leg up Penobscot Bay from Rockland to Buck's Harbor in the sun, flat water and mountains to cruising near Tortola in the BVI's (except for the turquoise waters). I will be in your area next week and may shout for you. Have fun.
