Brand new to this site. Hope to find lots of good stuff.
Significant other acquired an '03(?) Catalina 28 MK II this year. Moored just outside Portland. We really need a mentor/friend(s)/instructor(s)s to help to do her justice. Maybe someone to sail together with, show us how to do it right? He eventually wants to do some overnight sails and right now I feel our knowledge is way too limited, and the boat needing of some upkeep and attention. We are considering the local yacht club, but believe the waiting list is 1-2 years long. Would also be useful to see how the "others live", plus any good recommendations for engine work, and other boat repair if needed. Right now she is being worked on after damage during an August storm.
